yeah, I'm so baka and I forgot to say it in my previous post: my sincere condolences to your friend, I know very well how he/she feel.

for the downtime, I only panicked for a moment, but then like Artemis-chan I too checked Aarin on Twitter to see what was happening.

Sorry to hear that Dai >.< Felt really bad for contacting you a few times but I wasn't sure if you get them.

But thank you for attending to the problem... it was an almost similar problem like the long days crash we had, only this time it's solved earlier. There are a few things changed so I couldn't resolve it at my side, let's discuss this on MSN ok?~

Figured out the recent downtime was due to a hacking attempt, probably by an auto-bot or similar.

To be more specific, it was an exploit in the vBSEO (the url rewriting software that the forum uses). vBSEO released a patch recently, but unfortunately, I wasn't on to apply the patch. Rest assured that it's applied now.

The hack attempt was basically to redirect you to a pretty lame file sharing site.
It tried to make use of the rewrite engine and make all web page served be redirected. However, the attempt to do site-wide redirection failed as their code was typed incorrectly, so instead you receive a 500 internal error message as it couldn't decipher the code.

It also tried to make use of 403, 404, and 500 error messages to redirect you to that site. Members have pointed out that following the social groups / pictures & albums links when viewing the gallery redirected them to that site also. The social groups / pictures & albums links are incorrect when on a gallery page (since it shows the link as http://aarinfantasy.com/forum/gallery/groups/ instead of http://aarinfantasy.com/forum/groups/, therefore returning a 404 error message which, if correctly shown, is the OOPS!! picture.
