I agree. I used to read the shout box to see if there were anyone I wanted to say "hi" to but I stopped when I realized it's mostly unknown newbies flirting and occasionally having cyber sex :-& Too bad; it could be a cool place to talk about anime, etc. Oh well

That's the same for me as well. I was hesitant in the beginning because every minute or so there would be cybering sessions. Even though someone drops in to say a hello or change the subject, it would revert back to cybering.

Hopefully it's starting to get better and I go and chat there now and then.

I totally agree. It would be so great to have a place to talk about anime, manga and all the other stuff that goes with it, sigh.... And it´s really unknown newbies a lot that crowd the shoutbox these days, they rarely post anywhere but hang around the sb all day .

I agree with everyone here. I would love to go and meet and have fun conversations with people I actually sort of.... know?

Well, I don't think that the rule is useful at all since it's still the same there ._.
It doesn't seem that every user did read the new regulations.
At least today, where I read something about blood + wires and chopping things.
I don't post in the Shoutbox anymore since that's just disturbing.

Eh? O___o I don't go on the SB as much as I used to, mostly because, yeah, there wasn't anyone I really knew, and it was a lot, "so and so got in the bath tub with so and so" and drama. O__o But seriously, cybering?

I don't really think so, either. I think the rules are a bit too vague since what might be considered "making someone uncomfortable" varies from person to person ... I think it's a shame though since the shoutbox is something that everyone can see. I've taken to collapsing it because more often than not, they're talking about/doing things that I'd rather not read. Last night, I just happened to peek in, and they were talking about "giving it hard". I collapsed the box again ...

I didn't report it because I *know* I have a tendency to be a bit on the reserved side of things, as far as exhibitionist behavior or talk. I just know that their discussions nearly *always* make me uncomfortable--too uncomfortable to talk in there--so I just don't bother to read the shoutbox that often. There's too many inferrences to rape (also something that I don't think is ever appropriate or "funny" or "cute", but I digress), too many "not quite cybering, but close" moments that seem a bit too risque for me to be comfortable with but that I suppose others think is just fine ...

Anyway, I know that it's impossible to please everyone with rules and the like. I'm just stating my opinion

But Cireus, it´s the same with me. I don´t report because I think I´m the sensitive one here, but lots of the stuff that´s going on in there is indeed making me uncomfortable too. And I don´t like those "rape" references either, nor do I find them funny or cute, although I realise they might not be referring to real rape. Still I feel uncomfortable with it. I don´t know what to do about it though. I´d like it if the new rules would be enforced a little stronger. But I´m not even sure whether that would help because it would lead to people trying to break the rules in even more inventive ways and constant reporting, and I don´t know whether that makes sense. So I keep away from the shoutbox for the time being I guess and see what happens.

Yes I don't really like all the cybering, and 'rape' jokes which I don't find funny in any way, I feel odd saying that considering some of the posts I've made, in random treads around the forum .

I some times go in to the shout box, but uselly leave after a bit, because I feel uncomfortable, I don't think the new rules, are at all to strict, and anyway there are people under 18, in here and some of the things I've seen people put has really inappriate, again I shouldn't talk, as I can be just as bad....

It's pretty disturbing to read things like "blood is dripping everywhere" or things like that.
