Here some suggestions...

TAGS: This will be used for things that are too numerous to have a check box or something of that sort. For example pairing. There are tons of pairings, like SasuXNaru, etc. It's better if the user enter it in as a tag him/herself you think?

Genre: I need help coming up with all the possible genres users can choose from.

For 18+ and Fan-Fiction/Original-Fiction, I think we won't need this "field" since it's obvious what forum it is being posted under right?

Any other sort of "categorization" you think can be added?

Also, I disabled displaying reputation/cards in that section since want to try to limit the height of the posts so people can get through reading faster. The reputation system does not extend into the fiction section.. since it requires a lot of extra coding and changes to the default vbulletin database

I don't quite get how do you specify if it is fanfic/original 17.9/18+ when submitting first a story? I didn't see the creation/submission linked to a forum specifically...
I didn't understand that the fic would be added under their respective section. The one being migrated will end up on the right ones, but the newly created?


The only other categorization type I can see that could be useful (either as category or TAG) is for the "warnings"... usually, there are not so much that are used: something like "angst", "violence", "deadfic"... I don't know exactly... but I am almost sure there is a max of 10 of these possible categories... and some of them could overlap... so potentially the list can be reduced. If the list is not too long, they could be useful in the form of checkbox...

... and remains the status (WIP/Complete) that could be a boolean...

Ok... this is what I was thinking you wanted to remove (sorry, misread... talking about categories...)
So, categories remain for the specification of the forum.
I still think the status shall be separated from that... but it does the work the same if updated...

The other "category" you are looking for are the one that could be displayed as check boxes? Do I understand well?
If the case, I just see the usual warning could fit in there... [EDIT: which can be called genre also, in fact... ]

In the printable version, there is the banner that redirect to the Fiction section Home page...
... and thee, I wonder... Is it necessary to have the banner in the printable version? Or just the Forum name with corresponding link (as in a tree with the links shown below the banner) would be enough? Just a question here, I have really no idea what is best... just that to print, no images are needed...

As far as the "fields" are "filterable" (in the search function), it is enough... more comfortable if by clicking on one somewhere we end up with a list of all stories cotaining it... but search by "fields" is enough I guess

... I wonder how many people really use the filtering/search function anyway...

So, determined fields (check boxes) would be:
- Genre
- Warnings
- ?
... So far, 2 only... I don't see what else is specific enough and not too numerous to end up that way

EDIT: Oh.. I forgot to ask... I guess the setup in the user CP for subscription behavior (you can setup to automatically subscribe to thread you reply to for example) will not apply to the "Subscription" in this section?!

And last thing, the attachment... are not limited in size (I mean, the attachment authorized is "unlimited")... But as they appear in the main "attachment manager", there the total size is limited...[scrap that: Attachment managers are not related...]

Signature pictures disappeared in main post (1st page of fiction posted), but not in the replies (look at your "test" story)
[EDIT: Some sig pics are displayed, not some others... perhaps the format ?]

[EDIT2: perhaps due to the origin of the sig: the one I looked at and are not displayed are the one with an address within Aarinfantasy.com/forum... The one I see that are working have an address in another domain...]

This one, I don't see the text appearing in the first post...

EDIT3:
- There is no "Time out" on the search (no "please wait x seconders...")
- When searching a user name, without the "exact user name" on, the proposition for an existing user name is not there (when you start typing the user name, usually you see a list appearing with the possible user name starting with the alpha/digits you entered...)

I need help with getting a list together. Can a kind soul organize a fandom listing for me?

To do so, it would be best to have it displayed in ABC order. Go down to Display options -> Sorted by Thread Title -> Sort Order Ascending. That way all the threads are listed in ABC order.

Please put it in a txt file and attach it here
