@Eury: It was updating fine last night. No one ever checks my stories, you know? I went to undo my subscriptions and the count upped one.

Hn, isn't it amazing what can change in just a few hours?I think you rely on that thing way too much anyway...
EDIT: But, you know, I think you're right.

And you arrive at that conclusion how? Because I like it to function properly?
In fact I don't rely on it at all. But I think it's fun. Also, it's one of the very few means of feedback we have, since only a small fraction of readers comment. I freely admit that I like knowing whether the pages are accessed (because, really, that's all that number is saying).
Hello, I am really busy but want to answer this so you know that it's working at least and don't have to worry about it. It updates the view once per day now. Having it running every hour can trigger it locking up the database. I am working with the developer right now actually to see how we can optimize the code so it doesn't crash the database.
If you ever notice the forum being inaccessible when it's not backup time, it's because the scheduled job to update the views are being processed by the database and somehow got stuck and "locks" it, causing the database to crash in order to restore itself. I checked the load graph now and the database works fine for 23 hours straight (while 1 hour is down for the backup).
You remember all the times where I was troubleshooting the fictions section from multipages function to searching function... well those are fine as it is and not the cause of the crash. So basically the view update is causing this whole problem we've been having (even though I thought we fixed it by limiting it to update once per hour).

Thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule for answering.
I had seen already that the update was now daily. Which is perfectly fine.
That's a serious bug in the code, however. A function that causes the database to lock up. Good luck with finding it.![]()
excuse me..
about the fiction..
Does it require perfect proper grammar?..>.<
Of course not, this is an international site, so it's understandable that some can have trouble with english grammar. Not to mention, no one can expect you to be perfect.
However, if you think your grammar is way below average, it would be nicer to the readers to consider getting a beta, someone to check the mistakes for you.
There is a section where you can request a beta, here
http://aarinfantasy.com/forum/fictio...egory.php?c=26
And for advice and conversations about writing in general, you can go here

Hope this helps ^^
As what Mordor said... but you must be prepared for anyone to comment (good or bad) if there's grammar issues. A lot of times ppl get offended at some ppl nitpicking on their fics. I don't really read the fics here myself but I know of such issues that happened quite frequently here. So maybe take them as constructive criticism too... well, you be the judge... it's your fic afterall.
Good luck!
I've encountered one small problem when submitting a fic: I can't fill in anything in the boxes for 'disclaimer' 'warnings' and 'author's note'. I tried in different browsers, but no change. Any idea what I should do?
