I feel a bit lenient so I'll give it a 4. First thing you should know : I am surprised to see this anime in a yaoi site. So beware : there is no such thing in this anime as far as I have watch (meaning until episode 36). For music lovers over there : its good to actually have a show on how its done. However the music is...not so good. I thought that PERHAPS if I kept listening to it I'd love it but...no. It just became bearable. For not so much music lovers, this an interesting anime for the idea more than for watching it develop through 40+ episodes. The manga seems more interesting in many aspects BUT this is mainly about a pretty naive heterosexual relationship (on top of the making of a japanese rock boys band) : the type where the guy ALWAYS arrives at the nick of the time to save the damsel from harm.
I stopped watching it myself after the 36th because I was hungry for more deep complicated relationships and character development. Thanks to Aarinfantasy, I was not disappointed.
On the other hand, watching this anime motivated me in actually know more about the japanese music industry (nipponsei). If you like this group (I think its inspired by a real one!!) fine. I mean great, it means you had a treat watching this anime. For the unsatified ones out there don't be discouraged : there's Orange Range (Orenji Renji), UVERworld, Kanon, Abekoshi and Angela to name a few.
