Gakuen heaven - school life

The story is about a boy named Ito Keita who got a letter that said he could go to the all boys school.

The story itself may be a little boring from time to time, but I think this anime was great. It wasn't too much Yaoi, except for some episodes and the last episode, and this may be a little disapointing.

But anyway I think you would like this anime if you like "relaxing school life yaoi anime" like me. And just to say it, this anime wasn't too bad. I've watched Yaoi animes that are more boring than this one.

I hope you'll like this anime!

You don't have to think too hard about this one

Gakuen Heaven is a relatively short anime, based on a boy's love game of the same name (there are also a couple of manga volumes). Unfortunately, for a game-to-anime adaptation, it lacks the high quality plots of a lot of other shows of the same length, but that's not to say Gakuen Heaven doesn't have a lot going for it, especially if you're a boy's love fan looking for some light entertainment.

For one thing, the show is packed with gorgeous characters and a whole host of incredible, popular voice actors, who do a wonderful job bringing the boys to life. While the pace of the storyline might leave a lot to be desired, the voice work and animation makes up for it. The overall appearance is visually stunning, with bright, edgy colours, and nicely-drawn characters.

As I said, the plot isn't the most amazing thing I've ever seen, and sadly it all seems to explode in the later part of the series—the earlier parts are much more about introducing the different characters. Though I'm sure a lot of people would still find this enjoyable, again if they're simply looking for something pretty that's a lot of fun.

Gakuen Heaven

This is probably one of the silliest series I've ever watched, and it occupies a special place in my heart. I know that there are some fans of the BL game who don't much like the anime due to the focus being the story between Keita and Kazuki, but I really like their story and I enjoy the lighthearted nature of the series in general.

I will say that I would never actually call Gakuen Heaven "good." There are a lot of series out there that I like a helluva lot better, but its total and utter silliness and, I believe, self-awareness of that, is fantastic. The series is, in many ways, the ultimate in high school male harem shenanigans (I think it could be called a less-witty younger cousin of Ouran High School Host Club). Keita, the protagonist, is a nice, but somewhat generic freshman, surrounded by attractive classmates who all absolutely adore him and would go to the mat for him for practically no reason at all. It's completely hilarious.

As I said, it's pretty cliche, but it never fails to bring a smile to my face. I'd recommend it to anyone in need of a good giggle or two.

Bell Liberty: BL school for boys

I absolutely loved this series! It's my new favorite show! I just wish that it had been longer. What I liked especially was that even though it was an all boys school, unlike every other BL show/manga out there, the school was not populated with gay students and teachers. That was welcome relief. There was the captain of the tennis team, but it's hard to tell whether he was serious or just playing when he showed his affection for Keita and called him "Honey". There were several different layers to this show, but Keita and Kazuki's growing relationship seemed to always be in the center of everything.

Gakuen Heaven is definitely a great shounen ai. Like many have mentioned, this is a light and funny anime so if you're looking for something hot and heavy, this really isn't it. GH had good characters so it's very easy to find one, latch onto him and like him. I particularly like Nakajima. Everyone is so different and unique, yet they go so well together. An aspect that I really appreciated is the character development and background info. They tell you just enough about each character so that you're not sitting there going, "so why is he in it?" or better yet, "who is this guy?"

My only gripe about the show was it's ending... I was hoping for a lil bit more at the end, but that's just me. I had the "tell me more" feeling when it was over.

However, this anime is very well done. I like the episodes and the situations that the characters are put in... I don't want to tell you what it is... you're going to have to find out. For me, whether or not I can watch an anime over and over determines its likability and this show I have definitely watched a few times over. Thus, I highly recommend watching this anime.

It is a very good show, it is Defently a boys Love series so don't expect any real love development until the last few episodes, most of the time its "I might love him..... maybe" which is kinda strange when your a Yaoi XX fan, but it truly shows you the best side of Boys Love.

there was a few downers though, besides the main characters it had pretty little character development which is kinda understandable for a 13epp series. and the plot kinda all revolved around one issue "do I belong at this academy" so that kinda gets milked of all its worth at epp six-ish, and it made me want to buy a big fat cat hahaha (I like the chemistry teacher the most, I know strange choice)

anyways its more then worth downloading and its even more worth expanding into a second series because there was no real closure

An utterly sweet and feel-good bl anime. As the whole GH franchise is character-driven, as opposed to plot-driven, there is little in the show that resembles a comprehensible story line. Honestly, it's the characters that make it so enjoyable. They're all funny, loveable and sexy in their own strange ways. And as they're all elligibly gay(or maybe just that slutty) it's fun to conjure your own pairings and basically just be a fangirl about it all.
The series does lose marks in my books for occasionaly being too sappy, but there is more than enough humour to even it out.

I did wish they had more of Hide and Niwa in the show, who are my two favs, and that the character focus was broadened beyond the Keita/Kazuki scope(but that's just my own tastes). And that there was more of Omi and Hide. I love it when they fight ^^

Recommended if: you just want to watch hot bishies (hehe). Or something funny, cute and touching
Not recommended if: you're looking for something with lots of angst, sex, plot, and character development. No, really. (Though actually that Kazuki had a lot of angst going on)

*also* Morikawa Toshiyuki love!

To be completely honest, it feels like you have to get through 10 episodes of fan service and minor plot development before you arrive at something which kinda sorta if you squint resembles a main plot. This is not to say that there is no meaning in the previous episodes, but if you are looking for nerve wracking build-up, tension and the sort of plot twist which made Luke Skywalker lose his hand in "Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back", then I'm afraid "Gakuen Heaven" won't do it for you.

The main couple's story helps alleviate the lightness and overlook some of the many plot holes, but that's only because I'm a hopeless romantic, so if you aren't into that sort of thing or don't like them as a couple, you'll probably be bored out of your mind. Several of the characters' issues and "dramatic" situations are a little overdone, repetitive and pointless (in the sense that they had an easy fix which no one noticed somehow), but if you're looking for some light entertainment in the harem boy love story department, you probably won't mind.

All in all, "Gakuen Heaven" isn't horrible. It's not the worst anime I've ever come across, and it didn't make me feel like running to the nearest mountain peak and shouting at the universe to get it to give me back those 4.3 hours of my life. There's plenty of fan service for those of you who like that sort of thing, and comedy based on the premise that the audience enjoys watching the main character (or main uke, really) be eyed suggestively by the majority of the cast, even if there is in fact an implied main couple. So, if that's your cup of tea, then I have a feeling this series is just the kind of thing you'll enjoy.

This anime was cute. But I can't say that I can give it a great review. I watched it, and then two days later when my friends and I got together, I couldn't seem to recall most of the episodes. It just didn't seem to have sticking power with me. Although while I was watching it, I enjoyed it, I didn't take anything away from it. That is a big factor of likability for me.

By far one of my favorites, this is one series I can watch over and over. It is not necessarily the overall plot that makes this series good, it is the interactions between the characters. After the second episode each character and their "close" friend give a little teaser at the beginning of the episode, which ends up being hilarious, but frustrating because you want to know the extent of their relationships. Keita is cute and sweet, a little slow, but a likable character. It is great how he tells Kazuki he is like his Grandmother. Each character enriches the series making it sweet, dramatic, funny, etc.
I would have loved for the series to have developed more outside of the relationship between Keita and Kazuki, I love Kaoru and Omi!!! Hopefully a second season will come about one day, but if not, this is still definitely worth seeing, don't deny yourself the pleasure of a trip to Bell Liberty school with Keita, Kazuki and the rest.
