this was my first shonen-ai i ever watched and will forever be number one in my heart. This is what really introduced me into the shonen ai and yaoi world. Now since seeing this and many others I have managed to collect all of the manga to this series, though still waiting to see if any more of the Gravitation EX will be released to buy. I would say this is a great starter shonen ai for any one who is just starting out. It's like watching things like InuYasha or Naruto when you are a newbie to anime. It's one of the easier ones to find. This anime is not the least explicit and is very comedy. With Shuichi being the naive teenager who falls head over heels for the jerk, big hit romance novelist, Yuki. With the anime is starts out with Shuichi and Hiro already with their manager and have formed Bad Luck, and looking to make their debut. Both are already out of high school, while in the manga it starts out with them just getting ready to graduate High school and trying to find their break. If you're an avid anime watcher and don't read manga as much than I recommend watching Gravitation. It's a good watch and you'll get a lot of laughs with how ridiculous and far Shuichi will go to be with Yuki. There is some dark times that do take place in this that include our two main characters. Yuki deals with a dark past while Shuichi deals with some horrible events that happen to him because of his fame and relationship with Yuki.

The Gravitation anime is slightly more serious than the manga. A lot of the random goofiness is taken out. It's still wacky sometimes, but not as much as the manga was. You may or may not like that. For me the manga was way too full of crack and I enjoyed seeing this tamer version. Sadly, however, that's not the only thing that was tamed. The more physical elements of Shuichi and Eiri's relationship have also been toned down. No more wild kisses with mild groping. Nope. Now their lips just come together and the characters stand like that for a moment. It's not terribly bad, but it does seem lacking. Also, sex between Shuichi and Eiri is only hinted at. And these hints are very small ones. Despite this I still enjoyed the anime. None of the characters's personalities were changed. Eiri is still the lovable jerk and Shu-chan is as much a drama-queen as ever. I'm not a fan of the animation. It's all computer done and colored, leaving it with a clean polished look that just feels too fake to me. Other people might not mind it. I just personally don't like this type of animation. If you are a fan of the manga or are just looking for a funny shonen-ai story to watch then you might want to try this one out.

Gravitation is a yaoi that should definately be checked into. It has got a nice selection of characters, plus it is funny. It has got the perfect mixture of comedy to keep you entertained, but also enough angst to grab your heart and keep you wondering what is going to happen next. The characters are the type that quickly become your favorite and you can not help but to love them. It has been awhile since I have seen this anime, but it still remains in my heart, and probably always will. For any yaoi lover, this is one anime that you HAVE to atleast check out. I can honestly say, you will NOT be disappointed. It may seem a bit odd at first, but as long as you stick with it, and watch more than just a couple episodes, I can almost guarantee that you will fall in love~
The perfect anime for any yaoi lovers collection.

this anime was one of the first looks I had into the "shonen-ai" world. It is an amazing story about Shindou Shuichi, who is afraid of grasping his dream of becoming the next Sakuma Ryuuchi and Yuuki Eiri, who is running from a bloody past full of lies. Not only does this anime have an AMAZING plot but there are so many different genres that will snag ANYONE into this. Theres mystery, romance, and TONS of comedy. As if an amazing story wasn't enough there is also plenty of special tracks by artist Kotani Kinya - who serves as the singing voice for Shuichi throughout most of the anime. I cannot tell anyone with words alone how amazing this anime is. Watching this anime is simply a must.

It was the first shounen-ai anime I've ever watched and it got me into yaoi immediately.It's sweet and full of fluff.But that is expected since it has Shuichi in it.
Yuki is proving not all romance novelists are romantic but that doesn't mean he doesn't love Shuichi.And even when he is mean to Shu,he always returns to Yuki.The moments of fluff between them were really making me squeel my lungs out.
Also,the fits Shuichi was throwing from time to time and the costumes he wore were hilarious.Shuichi is the funniest uke I've ever seen.
The manga was good too.It was a little bit more graphic though.But it explained better some events that figured in the anime.Also,I liked the fact that in the manga,Yuki shows more emotion than in the anime.He seems more human.
I highly reccomend it to every yaoi starter.

This anime was my first yaoi series ever and it eased me into the whole addiction wonderfully! It was light, sweet, funny, cute, with enough angst and plot to keep me interested the whole way through. I completely recommend this to anyone that is interested in yaoi anime as a start and break that cherry.

Shuichi, a popular up and coming entertainment artist, meets Yuki a super fine writer filled with angst from his troubled past. He's suitably quiet, reserved, and loves to play hard to get while to cute and adorable shuichi runs after him constantly after falling in love with him. The graphics are awesome and very expressive of the avatars which had me laughing nearly all through the series.

There's no real strong sexual graphics so it keeps to a light and playful tone except for moments of sadness and conflicts when Yuki gets in the picture. This is definitely a anime that will stay in my heart forever and always be like my first love- you never get over it or forget. ^_^

This has to be my all time favourite boys love anime! The Gravitation anime is adapted from the manga in 13 episodes, relatively short, but still it has everything a shounen ai fangirl( fanboy) can wish for.

Even though it has no hardcore sex scenes and even few kiss scenes it's still worth all your time.
First of all: all the characters are wonderful bishounen! This should be enough to convince even the most hard core yaoi fan ^^ And it also has a pretty convincing story line for only 13 episodes plus a very good soundtrack.

It follows the lives of Shuichi Shindou, a singer who aspires to be the new number 1 in Japan's pop scene with his group Bad Luck and Yuki Eiri (fangirl squeals all around), a cold aloof writer of sad love stories. One night Shuichi bumps into Eiri, who criticises his new love lyrics and leaves a big impression on the young man. And that's the start of this beautiful love story...

This anime is both funny and sad at times, it really captures your heart as you root for Shuichi to melt snow king Yuki's heart and to overcome all problems and prejudices society can throw at you.

It's one series that will stay with you for the rest of your life! And that's a good thing!

A great anime to start off your addiction for Yaoi.

This anime is light hearted yet has a deep complex love plot. From love to drama to complications to love again. From rivals, love triangles, dark pasts and a bright and stressful future, this anime has it all!

If you're looking for a great plot, great art and some guy on guy action this anime is for you! Its not a hardcore Yaoi so you won't need to worry about seeing too much.

It hints and has just enough boy-love to make you want more and with such awesome music, you can't help but want to find the album and listen to it over and over while you think about the complicated love drama.

The characters are all so intense that you will actually feel for them. When they are sad you may cry. When they are happy you'll feel giddy. When they're working hard you just want to give them a pat on the back.

Great anime, great plot and characters! Would definitely recommend this for people new and old to this genre.

Gravitation is perfect Yaoi or Shounen-Ai beginner's anime.

I love all the character's, cause they all have their strange character.
The main character Shuichi Shindou is lovingly energetic, hopeful and optimistic, and if something come's to his way he is sad for awhile, but fast get's up and broke's the wall in his way.
He falled in love to Eiri Yuki and chase's him around and you would say pushes himself to Yuki, which i think is good thing, cause Yuki pushes people away and he feel's like he doesn't want anyone near him, but gladly Shuichi is very pushing, cause he can prove Yuki that there is someone he can love and that he can be loved. Thought sometime's i pity Shuichi, cause Yuki give's him cold shoulder and in anime leave's to America and leave's Shuichi, but i'm glad that Shuichi goes get him back and prove's his love over again to Yuki.

And i like K, cause i love his way to handle thing's. It make's you laugh alot, when you see how he get's Shuichi to work for his singing career.

This anime is funny, make's you feel sorrow, happiness...

This was the first shonen-ai I ever watched. The manga was the first shonen-ai I read. I definitely prefer the anime over the manga for the anime is more of a serious drama/romance and has less of the comedic fillers (like Rage and her giant city destroying panda mecha) that the manga is populated with. Though, the anime is more censored than the manga in several ways like both Eiri and Shuichi's assult for example. This still is one of my most all time favs!
