For me, this was the saddest series ever. The ending was tragic, so for you saps (like me) who can't bear for an unhappy ending, you might want to skip this one. Even though it's old and the eyes are kinda...er, sparkly, the plot is good. The OVA might leave you with a few questions, so you should try the manga first.
