~ This is one of the best yaoi animes ever. It's emotional, historical and so authentically Japanese. It's a period piece, set in the mid-1800s and features beautiful war art. A classic story of star-crossed lovers. It helps to know what a cicada is so look it up before you watch it, just to get the point since it's called "Winter Cicada". It's very 'Romeo and Juliet' but these two lovers are equals, as in there is no uke or seme, they are both masculine and feminine in their own ways, true bishounen. The sex scenes were HOT, smouldering and filled with passion. This is a work of art that every yaoi-lover should experience.
