An awesome title
I love baseball and yaoi. So, in my quest to find a story that combined both, I found this, and I'm glad that I did. The drama in some parts is rather beautiful. I find that the effort Uno puts into getting Ogata's attention is remarkable. A major component of the story seems to be Uno doing whatever he can if it means being closer to Ogata. Yes, there are plenty of wishy-washy feelings about, but I think that it's interesting to see what the main characters will do about them.
What I liked best, however, was that the uke had some sense of initiative. I have read many yaoi mangas, and not in a single one had the uke initiated a kiss, romantic moment, or what have you.
I have few complaints about this title. The story line in some parts moves WAY too fast. At one moment, Ogata could be in a house, then the next he could be playing in a game. Secondly, there are sound effects for EVERYTHING - getting up, sitting down, you name it. Oh, and this isn't THAT important, but I would have liked to see a little more baseball being played.
As a side note, this work might be easier to understand if you know baseball terminology, although a lot of the terminology in here is explained.
Still, I don't think that the fact I love baseball and yaoi was the sole reason I truly enjoyed this work. The overall drama is great, as are the characters.

I honestly don't know what to say...
And by that, I don't know what to put as the review title. I do have loads of things to say for my review, however. First of all, the second I saw Sono's face, I fell in love with him. He is as beautiful as he is endearing. Not only looks-wise, but I also admire how he acts, especially when he tells Seiji about his past tendencies. Seiji himself was also a good character, in a different fashion. Not only did I find him good-looking but I also felt sorry for him when he found out about Sono's past. The fact that he still remained in love with Sono through it all was very admirable.
The second story was a different kind of admirable. Aki-chan is honestly the most manly uke I have ever seen (besides Taki from Yellow). I felt sorry for him due to how his "master" treated him, and am glad that Ueno was able to help him out of his situation.
Now, I have heard of how lacking of plot SP is, and how it is little more than pure porn. However, I have to disagree. I actually found quite a bit of plot in this anime, including in the sex scenes. Perhaps I am just saying this because I am a graduated A.P. English Literature student, but I found meaning behind those types of scenes. These types of sex scenes are what I call "Chapter 17-style scenes," after "Chapter 17: ...Except Sex" of Tom Foster's How to Read Literature Like a Professor. While the first two scenes of the Seiji/Sono story were, indeed, virtually plotless, I found the last one rather thought-provoking. Sono had, in the past, slept with many different guys and just gave his body to anyone who asked for it. But then comes Seiji, whom Sono actually approaches on his own. The Chapter 17-style scene, occurring right after Sono tells Seiji personally about his past, symbolizes how Seiji absolves Sono of the guilt of his past. I found that the scene also showed how Seiji wanted to show Sono a whole new meaning behind sex, that it really can be an expression of true love. Sono also might have approached Seiji because he did not want to live in the past any longer, and believed that Seiji could be the one to free him from it.
I can also say that the Ueno/Aki story conveys a similar message in addition to some others. In this story, Ueno takes an active role on Aki, despite how Aki would normally take the active role. This could show Ueno's sympathy for Aki's situation. The Chapter 17-style scene in this story, then, symbolizes Aki's freedom and independence from his "master" and Ueno's wish to help Aki achieve that.
That is all my personal opinion, of course. From a yaoi fangirl point of view, I found that this anime was beautiful, awesome, funny, and dramatic. I highly recommend it to any yaoi fangirl looking for a hardcore and uncensored yaoi.

Very cute, very enjoyable
I have seen a reaction to this anime in which the "reactor" acted like they have just seen Sensitive Pornograph. So I figured if that reaction was going to be in that matter, I should give Okane ga Nai a try.
I did not react that way at all.
Nonetheless, I truly enjoyed this anime. One of the things I liked (besides the yaoi, of course) was Kanou's personality. I truly liked how he used his wit to try the other characters if it was for the sake of protecting Ayase. I thought that it really showed how much he cared about him.
Ayase, while an extremely weak character overall, is very cute and caring. Even though he was betrayed by his cousin, he still cared for him. He didn't even want that politician and his daughter to get killed because he found it wrong. For that, I have quite a bit of respect for Ayase.
As for the yaoi itself, one of the only two complaints I have is that there was some lack of romance at first. It becomes quite clear that Kanou has feelings for Ayase, but those feelings never seem reciprocated, even at the end. Still, I admired Kanou's dedication to Ayase and the love tension growing between them.
Which brings me to the other complaint I have - that the anime would have been continued slightly more. I have never read the manga, but I'm sure that what was not portrayed in the anime could look very good in anime form.
Across the board, the suspense and violent themes had me thrilled. There are very few yaoi animes that have the suspense that Okane ga Nai has. The scene in episode 2 where they played the game with the guns had me gasp.
While I did not care for the ending theme all that much, I enjoyed the opening theme "Romance Way" quite a bit. It's one of the 13 songs currently on my iPod.
I would rate this 4.5/5 stars, but seeing as I cannot (along with the fact that I enjoyed this anime nonetheless), I will give it 5 stars. I highly recommend it!!
