A little something for everyone!

This anime enchanted me the first time I watched it. It has a little something for anyone watching, shounen-ai fans, action lovers, history people who aren't nit-picky about accuracy, supernatural/fantasy addicts, and those looking for a bit of traumatic drama. The story-line is deep and non-repetitive, with minimal but still entertaining tangents. Most of the characters are dynamic and aren't completely single layer characters (and those that are, are still quite lovable).

For you romance fans, this anime covers all types. This anime is not completely made up of guys, like many yaoi series are and many of the characters have multiple possible love interests of both genders, but these relationships are not a screaming focus. Shipping fans of either team will find their favorites in this anime.
Action lovers and supernatural addicts, you get to witness battles between many different non-human people such as demons, angels, demon dogs, and shinigami (grim-reapers). Let me tell you, they are fantastic to see.
History buffs, if you're reading this review you probably already know that it's set in Victorian Era England. Some actual events and relations are addressed in the anime, though some in unrealistic ways, such as the Jack the Ripper murders and the Opium wars and Britain's handle on India at the time.
Drama seekers will find this anime intriguing also. Ciel specifically has an unspeakable past that he is trying to avenge (though I won't say anymore since I might spoil it). He is quite the twisted character.

The storyline really is deep and lacking many tangents. There is an unrelated episode here and there, but they do help explain and develope the characters. Plus they are fun and do help relieve from the heavy storyline at times.
Characters are all fantastic. They all have many levels in them, hidden selves they don't want others to see. Only a few proudly display their innermost thoughts with pride and they are all almost immediately lovable, shinigamis tend to do that
