Kazuya a 16-year-old popular idol singer who has load of female fans. Other the rehearse or sign autographs, he plays video games with his friend Akihiko. Akihiko is more violent then sweet toward Kazuya, but protective of him over any arguments they may get into. Akihiko later on confesses his love to Kazuya.

High school students Akihiko and Kazuya are best friends, who seem to be developing more than friendly feelings for each other. Now, Kazuya's side job as a teen idol is stirring up trouble for the both of them. Apparently, Akihiko isn't the only one interested in Kazuya. There's also the eccentric boss of a shady management agency, who will stop at nothing to get what he wants!
The plot is on the light side (the entire story is only about 20 minutes long, after all), and the animation was done in 1989 (which shows). This show will probably be disappointing when taken too seriously, but it's great if you're in the mood for something very eighties, kind of silly, a bit funny and a little sweet.

Retro Yaoi Classic.

I liked the song at the beginning, it gave a positive vibe to the whole thing, the running commentary too is memorable in that too cute, geeky way that is done for teens who like to know what their favorite pop stars enjoy in their spare time fandom being what it is - though this anime makes fun of that very well even if in a small degree. For those who liked Gravitation, they will instantly warm to this as the stories seem similar and the characters are just as cute, plus there is the 80's retro aspect to consider which makes in an interesting one to watch for those who can be nostalgic. Kazuya's cuteness is overwhelming, but you forgive him this slight as he is well drawn and exudes that pop star look associated with the eighties.

Though Kazuya gets plenty of attention and adoration from his female fans, he is most happiest when he's spending his time with Akihiko who he soon warms to once he gets to know him, but he has to hide his true self from his fans or risk being outed. They make an interesting couple, one cool and cute, the other a realist who tries to get his lover to see the more adult side of things in the real world rather than let him constantly see the bright lights and illusive fame.

For those who like their yaoi cute and romantic with an air of comedy this is for them and makes a change from the more raw anime out today.
