Angels from the planet Eden have been watching Earthians, the inhabitants of Earth, for 5 billion years. Chihaya, an angel with unlucky black hair and wings, is a plus checker who travels to Earth with Kagetsuya, a minus checker. Each team of plus and minus checkers keep track of Earth events and, if the score ever reaches minus 10,000, the Earth will be destroyed. The story follows Chihaya and Kagetsuya and the different people and events they observe on Earth.

Another favourite of mine

Now I will try and write this with disregarding the manga.
Loved this series, saw the anime before i ever read the manga and fell in love with it. Particularly the art work. It was different and refreshing to see. Though I would have liked the anime to be a big more yaoi/ shonen-ai like the manga I still like it. It's nice that for once there is more than two OVAs for a series, as this one has 4 all together. Though it is mainly shonen-ai (like Gauken Heaven or kind of like how Decedents of Darkness is) it still fuels the shonen-ai/ yaoi fan girl needs. My favourite character in this is Chihaya, I feel like the anime doesn't give him as much credit as the manga does though, he's a mighty strong character who is determined in what he believes in and does what he thinks is best for the people around him and himself. A must watch for the people who like light shonen-ai with a bit of fluff and having one of our main characters needing to be rescued.

The animation and art in this one is fantastic. However there is some great stuff here for anyone with an Angel fantasy. Some of the symbolism is very romantic and Kagetsuya is loaded with arrogant male dominance , which is nicely enhanced by the fact that he just can't seem to say NO to Chihaya running all over the place.

The plot is pretty solid it does wander off in a few places but I think the few times it does , just gives us another another opportunity to watch Kagetsuya rescue

Chihaya from himself. This is a really nice piece of Bishounen candy. I usually go for more reality based Shounen-ai (ie.Gakuen Heaven) so I was surprised to see somthing I really liked in the (Fantasy) catagory. I am biased because I favor Shounen-ai , no major sexiness going on just lots of mushy boy love.

Check it out sometime

Chihaya and Kagetsuya are two angels with a very odd job, well for me(just checking the earth situation)....just shounen-ai here, don't hope on yaoi when you feel that Yaoi action is gonna happen....the story at least has a plot, both of them go around.Suddenly,Chihaya and Kagetsuya meets some people and tries to help them(no,I'm not gonna spoil it for you)....if you skip parts of it,you won't really understand the whole story,so don't miss anything!....If you just like an anime with nice bishounens(even though it's just a few of them),good plot and just the lovey-dovey stuff...then I guess you'll like this anime.

I borrowed this show from a friend a while back. I hadn't read the manga before viewing and this show is likely much better than I thought it was if you have read the plot and character development from the manga prior to viewing. As a stand-alone feature I thought it was lame. There's no real character developement other than your steriotypical characters. Weak-pathetic-sick-angel uke, suposed angel-boyfriend of uke (although I never noticed any demonstrations of the fact- I guess you just have to have read the manga to know they even like each other) who does nothing but sulk, and the usual cloned/ultimate destroyer/negelected/mentally-a-child bishie angel with a 'mother' fixation on the pathetic uke. No nookie, no romance, just teenage level angst. And not the kind of angst I could sink my teeth into - just the cliche "nobody loves me, I think I'll destroy the world, hey that guy looks like me" kind of angst. Sexy-angel beserks and uke does the classic I'll-save-you-with-my-perfectness-snuggles-all-around thing. Also of note, the episodes are actually split in storyline over different sections in the manga (friend explained to me later). So accept confusion and disappointment if you wanted to find a cohesive plot, characters, and romance in this anime. You ain't gonna find it. About all I can say good about this anime is that the artwork is adequately pretty boy style. And that's it. If you want some serious angst and pretty boy anime than I suggest looking elsewhere (like the Kaze to ki no Uta Anime). Sum up: if you love (and I mean *love* the manga) then you'll get something (maybe) from this show, if you just picked this up at random -- save your renting money and watch something else instead.

Man, did this make my head spin! There are times in Earthian where you wish they would just slow down and tell you what the heck is happening.

Let's start off with the artwork; it's not amazing. It obvious that this was made in the 80's not only by their outrageous clothing with pant-waists as high as your grandfather's but also by the cheesy music that can be heard in the background. The backgrounds can sometimes be lame and people's faces have a tendency to get smushed Naruto-filler style.

The story line is lacking and the anime rarely gives you a real idea of exactly what is happening. There's this reference to this guy that Chihaya met on a boat and showed his wings to in the first episode but it's never really clear what happened or why. There's a huge jump in between episodes 1 to 2 and 2 to 3, but 3 and 4 are in sequence. No real BL except for an unexpected grope-fest in the third episode between Chihaya and Kagetsuya... which brings me to Kagetsuya. *groan*

The characters really could be better. Kagetsuya doesn't have much of a personality except for being the guy that needs to save Chihaya's hide all the time, though you really wouldn't want to get in his way. Chihaya is kind of whiny and helpless, which irks me slightly as I don't like people like that in general. His main role in the final two episodes just seems to be to yell "MISSAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!" over and over again.

There is one thing about Earthian that is pretty entertaining, though. If you pay attention, Chihaya's and Kagetsuya's beds slowly grow closer with every episode! XD I don't know why I find it funny, but I do.

To be honest, I really did expect better things from the creator of LOVELESS. But I have started to read the manga and it is something that I actually would recommend. The manga earned this anime 3 stars... which is kind of sad, really.
