Greatness continued

I love this series just as much as the first. There are more antics, more crazy drama, and even new characters to enjoy. The whole Usami family is insane, but I absolutely love them, and poor Misaki is a magnet for their attention. Unfortunately, Misaki and Usagi get much more attention than the other couples, but they happen to be my favorite, so I'm not complaining, but I could see how this could be frustrating for people who like the other couples more.

That said, this series is hilarious, and there were times where I found myself gasping with laughter. It's funnier than the first, in my opinion, but I love them both equally. It's better to watch this one after you've actually finished the first to understand better, but it's still funny even if you're new to Junjou Romantica.

So basically, stop reading this review and go watch it.

One of the best

I loved it. It was just as good as the first season if not better. My favorite was Junjou Terrorist. Shinobu is just adorable and his relationship with Miyagi is a bit twisted but cute nonetheless. Miyagi went through a lot trying to forget his sensei and try to love Shinobu. It's such a shame that there are just a few episodes of them in both seasons.
Junjou Egoist was also awesome and very funny. Hiroki was very stubborn and he didn't want to admit he loved Nowaki but it's a good thing Nowaki didn't give up.
And last but not last, Junjou Romantica. It had everything. Humor, angst and a lot of yaoi. I couldn't stop watching it. Usagi has a really cute way of showing his love to Misaki. Also, Misaki's reactions were just hilarious. And the yaoi scenes were very hot.
So yeah, good plot, cute characters and awesome yaoi scenes. This anime is one of the best I've ever seen. I highly recommend it to everyone.

More of the same. Which is a good thing! ^.^

If you're reading this review, then you've probably seen the first season of Junjou Romantica already. If not, then drop what you're doing right now and watch the first season!

The second season is really just more of the same. The characters are the same as they were before, except their relationships are firmly established now. "So what's the point?" you ask? Well now, instead of overcoming obstacles to building a relationship, we get to deal with obstacles in maintaining relationships! These include fun issues such as infidelity, interfering family members, and long-lost loves. Whoohoo!

The show's art style, music, etcetera, haven't changed much since last season. If anything, the series has maybe gotten a little funnier? More suspenseful? Is this even possible!?

One of the only things that I didn't enjoy about the transition from the first to the second season is that they changed the way Shinobu cries. In episode 11 of the first season, Shinobu and Miyagi are at an airport. Miyagi breaks some shocking news to Shinobu, who then follows Miyagi out of the airport, clutching onto Miyagi's sleeve and crying. Shinobu's muted sniffles were perhaps the most adorable thing I've ever seen. In the second season, they seem to have taken another direction with his crying. Maybe Shinobu's voice actor had a cold when they recorded this episode, because there's a lot more snorting and sniffling. A lot more. It's still works, but just barely. And that's about my only personal gripe as far as JR2 goes.

There is one more thing that I should mention. I don't have a problem with this personally because Romantica is my favorite couple, but the ratio of Romantica to Egoist to Terrorist is a lot more unbalanced than it was in the first season. I'm just approximating here but in the first season there were 6 Romantica episodes, 4 Egoist, and 2 Terrorist. In the second season, it's more like 9 Romantica, 2 Egoist, and 1 Terrorist. Like I said, I don't personally have a problem with it because I came out on top, but I can definitely see how it could upset some diehard Egoist/Terrorist fans.

Bottom line: If you liked Junjou Romantica, check out the second season. You shouldn't even need me to tell you this.

An amazing anime

This is one of the best series that I have ever watched. There's something that may be considered a **Spoiler** in here so I thought I'd give some warning.

Junjou Romantica season 1 was awesome, but it got much better this season. Every Romantica episode left me wondering what was going to happen next. I always wondered "Will Usagi and Misaki make it?" At every turn, poor Misaki was constantly getting caught in tough situations, yet it was great to see his relationship with Usagi strengthen through adversities. The same applies to the Egoist couple. This season continues to reveal the insecurities in both relationships and develop it throughout the series.

All of the characters are life like, in terms of personality, and invoke feelings in their audience. Since all of the characters go through trying situations or are struggling with issues within themselves, it's easy to relate to them and become sympathetic. Each character is unique and complicated so you won't find copies of personality traits or habits amongst characters. Furthermore, there aren't many predictable moments because the characters are so well-constructed.

The overall plot is solid. This anime basically takes the "two people from two different worlds" and revamps it. Like I've said before, hardly any predictable moments.

The art and voice acting (VA) is impeccable. There are no words that can describe how awesome the VA was. However, these comments are limited to the Japanese version since I haven't heard the VA in English.

Although I think this anime is worthy of more praise than I can give it, I was disappointed with the lack of episodes regarding the Terrorist couple. **Spoiler** Basically, the development of this couple was crammed into one episode. I have yet to read the manga for this couple so I'm not sure if it's due to the lack of development in the manga, but I felt cheated because the Miyagi x Shinobu relationship is quite taboo and can be, if written well, quite complicated. There were a few cameos of them throughout the series, but their storyline was cut significantly short. For that reason, I gave this anime 4 stars instead of 5.

You have to watch it!

This is just a light-hearted series about love. The three main couples are each very different but all enjoyable.

Junjuo Romantica is the most outrageous and extremely comical, but there are serious moments where you are just on the edge of your seat, waiting for a resolution. Their story is just adorable.

Junjou Egoist is by far the most realistic to me. This couple faces real challenges and i think that their story is believable. Their intereaction with eachother is just to die for, it's just so sweet! This is my favorite couple btw :3

Lastly Junjou Terrorist is just funny as hell! I haven't seen many episodes with this couple, but just cuase they aren't seen as much, doesn't mean that they aren't just as awesome

Sound was nice, it set the mood but didn't really stand out.The opening and ending themes weren't as good as the first season, but they are still good.

Art in this anime ranges from little chibi cartoons to big round sparly eyed faces. Each character has different eyes that are very expressive and they way they look is just...drool-worthy. lol. The backgrounds are nice to look at, but nothing really amazing.

Characters and their interations are definetley the selling point for this anime. Each character is just fun to learn about, and as you hear their inner monologues, you get to understand them so well. They are like my second family now xD.

Over-all, this anime is just so much fun to watch, and i recommend it to all that are willing to give yaoi a shot! You wont' regret it!
