AU Period Action

What I liked about Meine Liebe Weider and its predecessor Meine Liebe is the setting, which is quite different to a lot of other animes I've seen. It's set in a fictional Germanic country and mixes various elements from other time periods, giving the overall show an alternate-universe, steampunk feel.

At first glance, it's easy to see why the anime might appeal to boy's love fans, as the show is packed with pretty guys and it's drawn very nicely—the animation quality isn't bad at all. The anime focuses on each of the five main characters and their progression through a prestigious school, though it brings in various side characters along the way, and as you move through the first series and into the second, the plots get deeper and darker. There's a nice touch of mystery to this one, and there's a good amount of tension and action, so it doesn't feel shallow. Saying that, there's a fair amount of fan service, so it works for me on a few levels.

The other thing the creators really hit with this show is getting in some of the most renowned voice actors in the business. The cast is superb and very strong, and if you're looking for some period boarding-school adventure, this could be the anime for you!

Meine Liebe Wieder is a sequel series to the first season Meine Liebe, yet they follow no particular order so you can watch them in whichever order you want without being lost in the story. I would advice none the less to watch the series in the right order.

Compared to the first season where you are more learning about the different characters, their personal stories and their rlationship with one another, the second seasons has much better graphics quality and the story plot is a more intense. It starts straight into the suspicious plot with a general mysterious atmosphere, sometimes even dark, which draws you in the story quite easily.

All the characters are very different and each have a distinct peronslaity and of course, background story ( that are all sad stories ). They also all very pretty boys, their diversity is a strong point into the development of the story and you will surely find one or two that you will like more than the others. Meine Liebe Wieder truly develops them to their full capacity and you realise that even apart from the mai plot, a lot of underlying manipulations and deceiving occurs. Frienship prevails at the end but you will often fond you wondering who is on whose side, which makes the story even more exiting.

I truly enjoyed watching this show ( i started with Meine Liebe Wieder then Meine Liebe ). I n fct I watched both of them in three days. The historical context and the political plotting does it for me, pretty chararacters with precise defined personality just makes it a great series for me - not to mention this is also very slashy !
