Slow but alright...

Saint beast was very promising to start with, the characters are a hot group of male angels who’s relationships range from cute to super sexy however somewhere along the line the plot becomes very confusing and a little backwards…

There are a lot of slashable pairs that get you hooked to start with then seem to lose there lustier a little later on in the series, (most likely because the story line is so disjointed) and almost seem a little over done.

With six episodes it is also far to short, (that is if you don’t get bored after the first three) and there is not enough time for character development to reach its peak.

Saint beast also misses a lot of chances to prove itself, there are times where the plot seems to get really good then just drops off into nothingness within moments. I’m still not shore why this happens so many times in such a short series but it dose.

Having said all this, despite its faults, it is a good time killer if nothing else. Even though I don’t recommend it, it is worth a watch if your very bored one day.

The series started out very promising (hot guys some of them wearing almost next to nothing, the taboo about all male angels, what more could I have asked for?) but that changed VERY quickly.

Though there is some slashable relationships displayed but nothing comes from them! Personally I dropped this series on the third episode. I just couldn't take the baiting anymore! It was like giving me a free car with no petrol: I couldn't go anywhere with it. Not even out of the car lot!

Perhaps I am biased and if I had gone further into the series I would have understood more, but because I watched the 2 OVAs and series released before this, I realised that the producers had pretty much slaughtered any chance of something even remotely resembling shounen-ai in this series(lets face it in the original OVA, sometimes it seemed that some of the 'couples' really would just drop what they're doing and jump each other).

My BIGGEST problem is that there is no flow from previous OVAs/series to now. What happened to eveybody?! It was very confusing to follow. Coupled with my extreme annoyance at not being able to see any real progress in relationship and you've made a very impatient woman hit the big red 'X' button on her screen.

Saint Beast

If you watch the prequels to it: Saint Beast: Kouin Jojishi Tenshi Tan and the OVA, you'll understand this series so I definitely suggest watching it before considering these episodes. If you've watched the prequels and you think this will give you more answers, you'll be sadly disappointed. In the prequels, there were more BL hints and whatnot; moreover, their stories were better and made you want to keep watching until the end. However, the plot develops poorly as I kept asking myself, "what's going on?" and "where is Lucifer and Gabriel?" I honestly believe those two should have been in the story since they made appearances in Kouin Jojishi and were dying to get Judas/Yuda. Anyway, more and more questions arise with no answers. New female characters enter with little reason and added no real substance to the story where the prequels had no females. The animation is a bit lacking. My biggest issue was with Kira. He's so serious and candid in the prior sets of series, but in this he's a completely different character without explaining the whole change. Also, the ending is horrible because there's no sense of closure at all. It would have been fine if there was some closure and questions answered in regards to the characters while having an overall unanswered question or a deep thought for the audience... but, no, it was nothing like that at all.

(First I must say, sorry for my horrible grammar, I need to go learn basic English again...)

First off, I thought this story was a little boring in the beginning, but as you start to get into it seems promising. The story was picking up, and by the 10th episode it seemed like they were going to wrap everything up nicely and answer everything, sadly though...As you start to move forward you start noticing a change, they introduce the "Purge" and bring about new things that seem like they should happen soon. The questioning of Zeus, Shiva being promised to be made a Officer, Lucifer and Gabriel plans to take Judas and...well I forgot the other guys name, but to take them to hell. Simply they run through that, ignore everything that they were building to simply explain how we have natural disasters, and then leaving us hanging...with no answers...nothing! NOTHING! *shacks fists* For me I have to say that I am big on "The perfect ending." I will simply hate, despise, a anime because they ended it so horribly. I say that truly, if you were thinking about watching this anime, don't even bother, the download takes a lot of time and then to just be disappointed, truly not worth it. Also, even with the OVA, they explain what, three things? And then we look only at their childhood, NOTHING D< We don't even get a real explanation about what is going one. Though I still give Saint Beasts one thing, great animation and character design, but seriously, please go rewrite the story.

All right... my point of view on this is that the saint beast before this one are the best. This story is a completley different anime all together in the prequel there is some heavy bl hints but in Saint Beast ~Seijuu Kourin Hen the artist and producers flip the switch there was little to none bl in this anime. it makes me wonder if some people felt offended that angles where boy lovin. In Saint Beast: Kouin Jojishi Tenshitan there was alot of bl action/hint (like naked men holding eachother while the moon is shining down on them and water carrasing bodies) so if you plan on seeing saint beast i suggest you watch the prequels.
