Tactics...

Tactics...

The first time I saw this anime, I was not sure what to expect. The storyline is pretty good and the art work is awesome. There were a few things I was not as please with, such as the love between the main characters. I wanted more intimacy between Kantarou and Haruka, however it was more of an indirect love between them!!! I also imagined more fights with super natural power between good and evil, but there was not as much as I expected.

Overall, the anime is pretty good, but not enough action for me. I would recommend watching the first few episodes and see if you like the flow of the story. There are not many extreme climates of the anime that makes your heart race.

Another great series

Tactics, by the mangaka, Sakura Kinoshita (author of Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok) is a great series. The plot is very original, and so are the characters.

The series is not only good, but it is well executed with a very simple, yet effective plot. Kantarou Ichimiya travels the countyside of Japan, looking for the final resting place of the Demon Eating Goblin, while trying to find ways to fight deadlines, and on top of that killing a few demons on the side.

Once he finds Haruka, the Demon Eating Goblin, he joins him on his adventures.

This is a very, very good anime. I highly recommend it.

One of the sweetest, heart-clenching BL animes I've ever seen. For those who would challenge its classification as a BL, I ask that you try to explain why Kantarou blushes during several key scenes. Just try.

Kantarou is a uniquely compelling character. He is a "youkai-buster," but also a part-time writer and folklorist. He is severely lazy about his writing and scandalously condescending towards others. Small wonder that Haruka finds him less than appealing at the beginning of the series.

Both characters grow immensely as the plot builds. The ending is exciting; we learn some disturbing truths about Haruka (he is a tengu, after all ... a demon), but we also learn the truth about his feelings for Kantarou, and Kantarou's for him. Additionally, a heartwarming side story will leave you brushing at the tears on your cheeks, though the overall ending is still blissfully sweet.

Tactics... Great anime, like really super, but there is not enough yaoi, acually there isn't at all. The story was great, the art was really beautyful, the characters were pretty, but Haruka should have been much more... nicer, he was too cruel. The yaoi would have suited so well but I really don't know why they didn't make it like that. Still it was worth every minute of it. Overall rating should be 4.5 because of the yaoi missing, still there was that tenerness between Haruka and Kantarou, but for me it wasn't enough. This anime is for any anime-lovin'-geeky guy or gal. Must Watch!

Ah...Tactics. Where should I begin?

The story itself is simple enough. We have Ichinomiya Kantarou, who is able to see and even befriend demons, and has always dreamed of finding the "Oni-Eating Tengu." And then there's Haruka, the oni-eating tengu in question. Add a few female characters, including a hilarious little green demon who can only say "muu" (Her name happens to be Muu as well), and a mountain god who often doesn't act very godly, and you've got Tactics. Well, that plus random little adventures.

Tactics begins with random adventures of paranormal phenomenon cases that Kantarou and his gang have to figure out. But you catch glimpses of some rather serious and deep meaning throughout, that reach a peak towards the end.

I personally enjoyed this because it was light-hearted and fun, and the colors and characters were well brought out. The storyline is a tad typical, but the other aspects of the series make up for it. However, if you're looking for hardcore yaoi, then Tactics is not for you. It's strongly implied in some episodes, but nothing is put out in the open or said blatantly. In fact, there are mostly hetero couples, and the first episode may even seem shoujo-ai to some. But that aside, Tactics really is an excellent series for those of you who want something fun and in some ways, unique. The end is worth the wait, definitely. I'd fully recommend it to any anime fan, or manga, since this is also a manga.

If you really like the series and the obvious shounen-ai coupling (It'll be evident very soon), and if you MUST have yaoi between the two characters..have no fear. The artists actually drew a doujinshi for this series, called Love Sick, which is yaoi. Oh boy, is it yaoi.

That aside, all in all, Tactics had some unique plots in each episode, and had a nice underlying tone to the entire series. If you have some time, go ahead an watch the 25-episode long show, it's a lot of fun. Not to mention Haruka is very easy on the eyes!
