The Prince of Tennis (TV)

Prince of Tennis follows the exploits of several schools in their bid to become Japan's number one Tennis Team and to win the Nationals. The main character is Echizen Ryoma, a young tennis prodigy from the States, now residing in Tokyo and playing for Seigaku Middle School. However, due to the massive scope of this anime, the limelight is often caught by many of the other schools.

As each team and each character grows, you can't help but feel a connection toward them. While this anime is not strictly Shounen-ai or even Yaoi, the lack of female charterers and the wealth of male characters has put this anime in those genre's for many a fan.

Yes, this is a sports anime. And yes it is hard to believe at some points. But what this anime lacks in realism it more than makes up in heart.
