Blood+ - City of the Night Walkers is a pre-sequel to the animated Blood+

[This is a spin-off of the anime Blood +, but focuses on Kagi only.] In Hong Kong, Nishi is an young policeman investigating a case of strange murders, where the victims appear to have died of a fatal blood loss. But the investigation is taken over by a mysterious organization, whose member warns Nishi that he had better not keep on trying to uncover the truth.

A while after, as Nishi wanders in the city, he is suddently attacked by a monster, but hopefully a (beautiful ^^) stranger saves him.

This manga is really interesting and wonderfully drawn ; from what I've read, the plot seems very deep and there's still a lot of mysteries to unfold...

desert_coffin's review was good, so I won't add a summary here.

As for Oni_LINK's comment - City of the Night Walkers is not the actual series. Blood+ is an anime/manga set some time after Saya falls asleep and Haji searches for her. Saya has awakened now, but doesn't remember anything. A year later he finds her and the stories begins (again, as the beginning of their story was in the past, which is later explained in the sequel Blood+ Adagio in greater detail). Anyway, Night Walkers is the prequel to Blood+. Its set when Haji is steal searching for Saya - she's most likely already awoken and is with her 'adopted' family, the Miyagusuku family.

I highly recommend the Blood+ anime and manga (which are vastly different from each other), though you won't find any yaoi there (hints aside *grin*).

This is one that can be misjudged (I did) Though the name may be alluring, the ending is disappointing, you must be willing to let go of this manga without thinking of what will happen after, due to the fact that many questions may be left unanswered.
