tragic but heartfelt
i actually love this manga. the movie too. im more for happy endings, but to me, this story was really touching. although it was different from what i had expected, i have to say its my favorite of all the manga ive read so far. at the end i cried so much. i couldnt get over this sad feeling for days. mabe its because im such a hopeless romantic(even though the two never really got 'together', you could see just how much they cared for eachother)
it really effected me on a deep level.
ive read alot of books over the years and there has only been two authors whose works were able to effect me emotionally. and thats because i could relate to their stories(they were true stories).
but this one tops the list! to actually make me feel depressed even though i know its just a made up story... i felt like it happened right in front of me! i was so not exspecting the ending to be like that... of course, i didnt know of the movie until after i heard of the manga. so i had no idea it was a tragidy.
but i was deeply moved by this amazing work of art... i give my praise to the creator of such beautiful work!! (^_^)

Love?
I picked this up at the bookstore last month, hoping that it would be something... Well, other than it was. The artwork was decent, but the characters were flat and underdeveloped.
Again, I say, 'Love'?
All I saw was a couple of whiny teenagers that couldn't get over themselves. Really, the only emotion this manga inspired in me was apathy- and a wish for my cash back.
All in all, a 2; conceivably a 2.5, just because the art was better than some.

1st chapter review~
when i saw the cover to this yaoi gig, i was hoping it would be something romantic about the ocean. but when i read the first chapter, all it was is a reviewer, and a snotty artist-playboy high school-er.
the overall plot for this chapter was pretty weak, and it didn't really catch my attention that well. no fantasy or comedy, just some so-called rated R rape, and no emotion.
the artwork, however was pretty clear and crisp that allows any reader to decipher what's-what.
other than that, i give this an average of 2.5.
