My absolute favorite yaoi manga

I absolutely love the story here. It has a great arc and character development, something many yaoi manga reject in favor of saccharine sweet endings and more space for sex scenes. Speaking of, Close the Last Door has some of my favorite sex scenes not just because they're traditionally "hot" but because they serve a purpose in the plot and are increasingly intimate and sweet.

I just hope that someday June will publish the sequel!

Art: 4 stars; a bit rough, but it definitely grows on you and detracts nothing from the story
Characters: 5 stars; Why it's my favorite. The characters are rounded individuals, with their own flaws and high points. (Except Saitou. I hate his whiny little-girl guts XD).
Plot: 5 stars; A fairly standard plot (The man I loved is getting married, but whoops they broke up because he really loved ME all along and now we get to live happily ever after) taken and twisted into a much more interesting story (The man I loved is getting married, so I shack up with another guy. And start to really like him. Just when I'm getting used to the idea, the man I love(?) gets divorced and starts coming on to me! But do I love him any more?).

Close the Last Door

When I first saw Close the Last Door, I thought it would be an average manga. Boy, I was wrong. The story is about Nagai. Nagai is in love with Saitou, but Saitou is married. During the celebration of the marriage, Nagai hangs out a bar, drinking too much. He meets Honda and when Nagai is too drunk he confess his love for Saitou. But Honda is starting to develop feelings for Nagai..
The story and the characters are great! You'll fall in love with all the main characters. The art is good too with a couple of sex scenes.
By the way, the manga Into Your Heart Through the Door is about the brothers of Honda. A must read!

Bittersweet love story for the rejected

Although I was not sure about this manga from the start (the story sounded interesting and the art looked average), I read it and was extremely impressed (not to mention the art grew on me- now I love her unique style!). Yamada Yugi has written a tale about unrequited love, dealing with rejection, and moving on, and the way she does it is amazingly entertaining and fun. Nagai is our main man, who is using bad tactics to get over his long-time crush and friend, Saitou. Saitou has just gotten married, and Nagai has to pretend that he is happy for the couple and supportive for their relationship- which he is anything but. By chance, he meets another person who attended their wedding in a bar- Honda. Honda confesses to Nagai that, in the past, he was romantically involved with the woman that Saitou married. The two embark on a journey of healing, sharing the same pain and helping each other cope with their broken hearts. They also begin to develop feelings for each other, which they also begin to cope with. I recommend this excellent manga to those who like good, quality stories and minimal sexual content- you won’t be disappointed!
