Synopsis/Review: Natsui Kodaka is the school geek – coke bottle glasses and everything. He doesn’t have any friends but he tries hard and believes the best of people. When organising the school’s cultural festival, Natsui must approach Yasaka Ritsu, heir to a talent agency business, in order to secure entertainment. Yasaka-kun and his friend Itsuki Shigure are gorgeous, popular and cool and so are far beyond Natsui’s reach. But the cultural festival brings them all together, and their odd friendship begins as the three enter the Yasaka Corp. as models and Natsui must learn how to deal with having friends, the modeling world, and the strange behaviour of Yasaka towards him… This manga is one of my absolute favourites! Natsui is adorable in his naivety, although his insecurity is sometimes really painful to read (I cried in one bit!), and it’s interesting to see the stoic Yasaka struggle with his feelings and jealousy. The side characters create comic relief and the story progresses at a nice pace. The art is great, sort of being mid-way between Asami Tohjou’s early style, and the way she draws now, but you should be warned that by the third volume, it begins to change a little although it’s not particularly noticeable. There is very little sex in the first two volumes, but by the third, it becomes graphic. There is also a two volume sequel to this called Chouhatsu: Denkou Sekka Boys, and a doujinshi called Taffy (scanlated by Secret Haven).
