Oka no Ue no Rakuen Hot

Synopsis/Review: Okay, before I start I'll make it clear that I love this book. Love it like a loving thing loves things. So, that having been said, I'll start off with what I don't really like about it. Some of the art is less than wonderful. Chins are too pointy (even by Manga standards) and some of the characters heads are attached to their necks in ways that neither god nor the spine ever intended. Now, for what I love about it The story is ADORABLE. It's the story of friendship and romance between two male teachers at a private all-girl's high school. The characters are well developed. The relationship between them - from co-workers to friends to lovers - is slow and sweet and believable. But more than that, the thing that makes it such a wonderful read is how awkward they are with each other. Both men are so reluctant to confess - so, so adorably afraid of rejection... yeah, when you read it, you will sympathize with them and cheer for them and just want to hug them like mad. In a lot of stories (not just manga, but most gay male lit in general) that sort of normal human awkwardness and fear is down played, sort of thrown away in favor of passion. Here, the author reveled in it. The insecurities of these characters and their wonderful friendship really makes the whole thing work. So, when it's published, take my advice and pick it up.
