Bright and early oneMonday morning, Shino Yuzuru asks Seryou Touji out on a lark when theyrun into each other at the school gate. Seryou, who's immenselypopular, has the odd habit of going out with anyone who asks him outfirst at the beginning of the week, then promptly dumping them at theend of it. "Anyone" apparently includes male upperclassmen like Shino, and as a boyfriend, Seryou is perfect--unfailingly thoughtful and kind.Shino, obviously, has no intention of being in a serious relationshipwith Seryou. It's not like it's actually love or anything like that....Right?

Beautiful.
There are not enough words for me to describe this unbelievably moving and poignant manga.
The plot is what first intrigued me but the story actually goes much deeper. It actually takes the time to explore the process of falling in love which, more often than not, is complicated and delicate. Seryou and Yuzuru's relationship with each other tugged strongly at my heartstrings as they fleshed it out bit by bit, especially when they dealt with their feelings of jealousy and fear of the week's end. Lovely pacing, not too fast or slow.
The characters themselves are interesting pieces. The carefree and sometimes emotional Shino Yuzuru coupled with laid-back and somewhat possessive Seryou. Both judged often by their good looks and both longing for love. The supporting characters served their purpose well too.
As for the art, personally, I really love Takarai Rihito sensei's art. I don't think any other style would've suited this manga better, the realistic yet at times ethereal feel. Her characters were very nicely drawn, and she could really bring out all the emotions in them. The backgrounds were neat and pleasant to the eyes. I liked how there was emphasis on certain expressions and little, supposedly "non-important" gestures of the characters that held great meaning.
On the whole, this manga is a rare gem and I believe, is one of the best I have seen out there. It won't disappoint... unless you want more than two volumes.

Give me a week to fall in love
Shino Yuzuru is a third year high school student who is constantly being judged by his good looks, that are in contrast to his personality. It's not strange that when he hears the story of a junior's weird habit he feels quite curious about it; Seryou Touji is a sophomore that has adopted as a custom accepting any girl, who confesses first on Monday, as his girlfriend during the week. If he doesn't fall in love with them, the relationship ends in that Sunday and, since he is so popular, he is very lucky to get a new girlfriend every Monday, or maybe not so lucky. Shino is pondering about all this when, coincidentally, he turns out to be the first person to meet Seryou in that week. His curiosity takes the best of him, so much that he jokingly asks Seryou to be his couple of the week after hearing he would accept anyone. What will happen when Seryou takes his "rule" a bit too seriously...?
Seven Days is presented to us as a boy's love manga, but it's certainly much more than that. This is a romance story with a premise that transcends any genre; the nature of falling in love. We all judge based on appearances, at least until we are able to know more, that's why the concept of seven days to fall in love sounds so compelling and very interesting. From that idea, the plot progresses slowly, instantly taking us to our days of innocent dreams, and creating a sort of magical purity between these teenagers, who wouldn't be able to enjoy such details if they weren't completely unexpected. The week promise is the thread that keeps them together and can definitely separate them at the end of that week.
This manga would probably become only an endearing story, if it weren't for the breathtakingly beautiful way the game is presented to us. A sort of delicate, disheveled and yet beautiful art-style; a very clever way of placing simple words, playing with panel alignment and flashbacks to empower them; and characters with very interesting and quirky personalities. Tachibana Venio's story, combined with Takarai Rihito's art, worked with these details in a way that made Seven Days a light but brilliant piece. There is definitely a lovely harmony between all the elements, each of them enhancing the beauty of the other, until the point you can feel, for example, the tension and tranquility in Yuzuru's archery performance, just as Seryou would picture it.
Character-wise, there is nothing more interesting than realistic, flawed personalities, at least for me. These boys are considered handsome, and they are very popular, but they have a lot of complicated and not so good qualities that people don't like to imagine while looking at them. However, they complement each other nicely, and their bad points can actually become charming once you get to look at them from different angles.
Compared to most fast-paced boy's loves, Seven Days turns out to be very simple and original, in a way that strikes me as slice of life. In fact, every time I read this volume a strange sense of peace overcomes me. I can't help but think that I slowly fell in love too, but with the manga, because it artfully caresses any fiber of romanticist you might have. Shino and Seryou remind us what falling in love is about. Not the I love you since I first saw you or you are so hot/strong/powerful that I can't resist you type. It's the this is the real me, I'm getting to know you, and I really like what I see kind of love. Honestly, this is the sort of romantic development that I would like to see in most romantic stories. For now, they are just getting to know each other (makes me wonder about the 16+ rating, this is not yaoi), but we almost can't wait to see what will come on Friday in one of the best weeks of boy's love. Seven Days would serve as a really heartwarming introduction to boy's love with an unusual and well-thought "game" that leaves us thinking about the reasons we fall in love.
Special Thanks to Digital Manga that provided the digital copy of the book. This is already licensed by Juné.

Five Stars all round!
Seven Days is an awesome manga! Not only is the plot of the entire story excellent but the artwork it brilliant! It's one of the best shounen-ai mangas I've read in a while. If your looking for a "some slice-of-life, no sex, cute and romantic" type of manga, then Seven Days is a great read.
I love story that have interesting and realistic characters...and the relationship between the two characters is slow and steady instead of rushed into (which is the case with a load of shounen-ai mangas/animes) On the artwork side, it's fantastically drawn so those who are picky about artwork (which I am) then I don't think you will disappointed.
All in all...this manga is defiantly worth the read, I'd doubt you'll be disappointed. :) The only downfall of this series is that it's so short!!

One of the best short works!!!
The art is not what I'm normally used to, but the springiness of it is refreshing. The art helps in bringing the manga to a reality level other works only wish for. There's something about the straight lines and the single lines that make it very realistic and refreshing.
The characters are simply awesome. I love both main characters. Shino is the typical boy who developed a personality unbecoming of his face. However, his personality is very refreshing. He says what he wants, when he wants, before he thinks about it. He's really cute in his purity. I love how he blurts things out before he thinks them through because it's what moves the relationship forward. It's partially from being a guy, but over thinking would have made the manga worse. The other main character is fun too. His principles are uncommon, but refreshing. It's really nice to see how he's innocent too in his restraints and learning.
The plot is simply... awesome. It's what keeps me on a cliffhanger wanting for more after every chapter. This is one of those works that you didn't think would be good, but comes around and haunts you in your sleep. Once you're a more seasoned reader, it's hard to find good mangas that appeal to your tastes. However, I'm glad I found this one. It is a great addition.

One of the best for me!
Seven Days is a wonderful manga!
It's art may not be the best but it's plot is what kept me reading!
It's unique plot will really make you want to continue reading!
It's storyline is what I loved the most in this manga!
Having different girlfriends per week to see if you really love her! Seryou is really one heck of a popular guy!
I wish there was an anime for it. Really I do.
I have finished looking at the raws for Friday- Sunday (not reading because I don't like reading Japanese and translating it because I get a migraine) and I was really like:
"What's happening?"
"Who is that?!"
"What the!!!??"
I really would like it if there were more translating groups for these manga or if someone would transalate it because the group working for this project is ummm.. kinda slow or maaybe they already dropped it.
So if you're a fan of some slice-of-life, no sex, cute and romance for shounen-ai manga, this is the best reread for you!
